Podcast: More and More and More

Giza, Egypt 2009: Isaiah and Arianna have traveled much in their young lives. It seems as if there is just “more and more and more.” Such is the way all lives genuinely touched by Christ should run and feel.

From Trent Ling:

No matter how much of life or how much of the Bible is miraculously lived at the hand of God, “more and more and more” is always availed by God’s Spirit.  Though amazing and almost unimaginable, such is the expected course of the life of a disciple of Jesus.

There need be no settling or boredom in the Kingdom of God.  Go get it, prove the Bible true, and give it all away along the way.  There’s nothing like it.

This message features the reading and preaching of the following Scriptures:

1 Peter 2:2-3

2 Corinthians 3:17-18

Matthew 11:11-12

Romans 15:1-2

  1. It’s been a while since I’ve listened to this message. I remember when it was preached. I remember the excitement of the summer but also feeling nervous of what was about to happen. We were still young in the faith and our spiritual parents (a.k.a our leaders in faith, our examples of what to be, etc.) were going away for a little while. Maybe the disciples in Jesus’ time felt that mixed bags of emotions when they were about to be left on their own. The thing to do is always to grow and do the right things you learned in increasing measure – that’s the safeguard. Being a parent, you have the same hope for your own children, that in the parents’ absence the kids will still do what is right and do more of it. It was good to listen to this message again. Ten years after this message was preached, look where we are and I see the worth and value of this teaching even more now in helping remain faithful. Jesus’ teachings aren’t popular, though lifesaving, lots of people seem to shrug it off, go figure that most parents in the world whether they believe or don’t, aim to teach their kids to do right and have the same hope as Jesus did. If they gave it a shot they would find so much fellowship, instruction, guidance, and support.
