Trent Ling’s preached message, “An Open Invitation” has arrived into the public podcast library.
This message invites people far and wide to check out life in Christ according to the Bible and within the fellowship of a real, living, breathing ministry.
“Many are simply hesitant when it comes to spiritual matters,” Trent concludes. “Surely, I was in no hurry to investigate the Bible or to talk to anybody about God or Jesus. Understanding that, we leave people with an open invitation to come and go, come and go, and to do whatever they need to do to get things sorted out. We’ll always be here, so when people have run out their options and come to a point of decision, our doors remain open. It’s always up to them, and I just want them to know that. The message helps people understand that dynamic, and sets out some truths and parameters to guide them in these very important considerations.”
This message features the reading and preaching of the following Scriptures:
Luke 12:1-3
Jeremiah 6:13-15
Isaiah 55:1-2
2 Timothy 2:14-15

Wow! I learned so much from this message that I don’t know where to start! But one of the “aha moments” during the message was sparked by the understanding that everything will come to the light or be exposed sooner or later (Mark 4:22). In my shortsightedness, I thought that this only meant that He was going to make our sins known sooner or later. But now I know that God will expose the darkness of our hearts by any means necessary and this includes using the consequences of our own sin to do it. He might even use things that might not be directly related but are a clear picture of how dark our heart really is. This gave me a further understanding of who I was and why I acted the way I did before becoming a Disciple.
Everyday when you hear bad news after bad news, people react and reason like animal! what the first thing that goes to your mind? Wishing that you can help them to come to their senses? I feel bad for God, you know he could just wipe up the entire world… but He’s so patient, giving people more chances to repent…
Isaiah 55:6 Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts.
Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
How greatly humbling to hear this again. I absolutely love how God’s word really sets you free! If you just let it. Love you.
