Trent Ling’s preached message, “Leading? Following? Or What?” has now arrived into the public podcast library.
This message aims to establish some order, direction, and sense to the fellowship and the various actions of disciples of Jesus. Often given to drifting or spiraling, lives in the faith must be able to give an account of themselves as to what is really going on.
“Oftentimes, the sources of beliefs and actions remain a mystery to the very person so believing and so acting,” Trent laments. “This message tries to spare people from starring in their own mystery or thriller. By figuring out, evaluating, and testing what we believe and do, we can either knock it off or be fortified by the integrity that comes from a life which agrees with the Scriptures. In no case can we just saunter along without a tether to the truth and an understanding of it. More than anything, I would hope that this message opens the door for disciples of Jesus to step forward and lead God’s people in new, exciting, and powerful directions and pursuits.”
This message features the reading and preaching of the following Scriptures:
Numbers 25:1-9, 11
Romans 15:5-6
Proverbs 1:29-32

Awesome message! It is very cool to be able to do both (lead and follow). Because the Body of Christ has different functions we can join our Brothers and Sisters in Spirit-led efforts to advance the Kingdom. On the other hand, we have to wrestle God so He can reveal to us where, when, and how to forge a path that others can follow to glorify God. But not being part of any of the two realms equal spiritual inertness, sluggishness, and resistance to a Kingdom that does not stop moving.
